I was busy all day putting sealant on the deck. We are suposed to get a big storm on Monday night or Tuesday, so I was trying to get the deck ready for winter. Tomorrow I need to finish scraping the paint off the weather side (East) of the house and get the primer onto the raw wood. I probably won't get the color coat on before this storm hits, mostly because I haven't actually chosen the color... it is to be the same for the house and the shop. But if I've got the primer on the wood siding, it won't soak up so much water that I can't paint the color coat when it gets dry again - like next Saturday. I should have finished the scraping the paint off the house before I started putting the sealant on the deck, but Henry was pretty concerned about finishing the deck before the rain. The decking really soaked up the water-seal, too! Sometimes I wonder why my projects always get put on the back burner... I am allowing that, I guess.
While I was working around the back of the house, Jim and Kyle came up and put the roof on the tractor shed. They usually don't work on Saturday, but the coming rain has everybody spooked. The roofers will come install the the metal roofing (that's it in front of the shed) on Monday. The sheetrock will be delivered Monday morning as well... don't want to be unloading that stuff in the rain!
The insulation will go into the walls on Tuesday, and the sheetrock will be put up Wednesday. Jim and Kyle will continue putting up the exterior siding, and when it is too wet for that, they'll put in the doors. We appear to be heading into the last phases of construction, so I'd better decide on the paint color pretty soon!
