Primed and Ready...

I got the sealer on the deck just in time... and the primer 'slapped' onto the bare wood so the house won't be such a sponge!

Everyone was racing the big storm that was set to move in on Tuesday (yesterday); Jim and Kyle put the green roof on the tractor shed, Henry did the last of the tractor work on the up-hill side of the shop and the driveway, and I baked cookies. The house still looks pretty pathetic, but at least it is covered. We ended the 24 hour day with almost 2" of badly needed rain.

I'm proud of the nice way the deck turned out, the
water from the storm beaded right up and didn't soak in at all! It took an hour to seal each of the sections of railing, and there are eight or nine sections. Very fiddly work, that! But the wood on the deck and the nice railings should last a while now. I think the last time we sealed the deck was six or seven years ago, and I just sprayed it, didn't brush it in/on at all. This should be much better.

The next few days we should have "periods of rain" and some sun. Pretty weather here, but I won't tell anyone!
