One project done...

On Friday, Henry and I drove out to see "Mike, the Compost Guy". We came home with a truckload of good garden soil... Mike does mostly wholesale for landscpers and garden centers, but he'll fill up a truck for a pretty good price if you ask him nicely.

Three yards of sandy loam and compost - soon it will be filling up the raised beds I made by recycling the old wooden walkway next to the garage/studio. I got tired of falling on my keester when the walk got wet and slick, and replaced the tattered raised walkway with gravel. Much better, but then I had a bunch of semi-good 2X6 to get rid of.

AHA! I wanted some raised beds for planting Lavender... and a recycling project was born.

Little Brother Kitty was a really big help... no mousies down there, guy! Only weeds and soil to be turned before Erin and I filled up the boxes.

Now, doesn't that look nice? And in a few weeks when all the Lavender flowers open, it will smell so good out on the deck, too!

  1. That does look nice. Nothing like a good load of compost to make for a happy garden. Enjoy!
