I don't know if this is a Bear track, or maybe a Mountain Lion... both are native and present in our part of the woods. Henry saw a large lion in the Fall, and one of Jim's goats was slaughtered on the hill beyond the 'ten acre field' by a bear in February.
I stopped at the mailbox to leave a letter for pickup and almost put my foot on this animal track! Actually it is a double track, and I couldn't tell if the animal who made it had four toes (cat) or five (bear). The tracks are actually on the gravelled road, which is quite hard and so they are not very deep or distinct. But distinct enough for me to know we live in a very wild part of the woods.
