Finale for The Clay Place, et al.

Yesterday I went to town and did a few errands, then had lunch with Nora. I stopped by the Clay Place to pick up my last pieces, but the kiln was too hot to unload... so after our lunch I went back. This is what came out. Three lunch-sized plates and five cups (I was using one for tea, so it isn't in the photo)... and a pot. The pot was too hot when it came out and the glaze crazed. No great loss, but I do hate to push the temp and deliberately mess up ware. I wanted to go home - I still had to stop at Sherm's and it was getting on to 4:30.
It is sad that the CP is closed, not just for me - I was able to get into the JC clay class, but for a lot of the members - they have no other options. And the kids who come to work with clay have no place to go any more... there won't even be any kids' clay programs in the summer! What a rotten break.
