Henry was sitting at the DR table, finishing the taxes, when he stretched and looked outside to see if it was raining yet. There was a "Psst!" from his direction and he pointed out the window, so I carefull opened the curtain... and there they were!
I never get tired of seeing elk right in my own "backyard" or taking pictures of them out my kitchen window. The second fence you can see in the picture is the one separating the orchard from the yard. It is about 70 feet from the first sheep fence, the one you can just make out at the bottom of the picture. There are about 20 feet between the deck and the "yard" fence, which means these guys are about 150 ft away... they are really BIG!
My hubby wants elk in our backyard! We are lucky to see a deer or 2 on occasion--too many people and homes around now! I am loving your blog and very interested in your clay projects. Can't wait to read more.
