Garage Underway Again

Jim and his crew finished the firehouse and were back on the job this morning! The truck from the block factory arrived at 7:30 and was unloaded and gone by 8:00...

With Kayla mixing the concrete, and Kyle cutting block to fit, Jim had a steady stream of material to make the retaining wall. I think it has to be five blocks tall at the other end, and one block high at this end.

I was around the back of the house scraping off paint... an old wood house takes a lot of upkeep (like a wooden boat), and this one has been WAY neglected! My project for this summer was to scrape and paint this one side of the house... the weather side. Replacing the slider onto the deck was really an afterthought, I really thought I could just swap it out. How wrong I was! My friend Kim was right, an old farm and an old farmhouse is a work pit... but I do love living here - I've never been more physically tired or happier! There is so much to do here, and I have so many projects, I could never be bored.
