Christmas is on the Way...

Getting ready for Christmas on the Farm! I spent a few minutes untangling the lights (yeah, and waiting for the rain to stop) so I could go out and put up them up. It did stop raining, and I did get the lights up. They look quite nice strung along the deck railing... very cheery!

Henry's sister Doris sent us a lovely small Christmas tree. We haven't much room in our house and a full-sized tree wouldn't have fit. We have lots of small trees in our forest, but they are for timber - not looks. In order to make the Douglas Fir Christmas trees we know and love, they do a lot of shearing and take special care to make them look perfect.

It was such a nice surprise to have this delivered to our house. I put it on the phone table for it's picture, but it can't stay there... that is where "Little Brother" sits to look out of the big glass door. He does like the tree, though - finds it interesting and nice smelling, I think. He does stare at it, though the other cats don't seem to care one way or the other about the tree, since the ornaments are the same tiny scale as the tree. Perhaps they are puzzled by an outside tree inside the house? Too small to bat, and beneath the notice of a cat.
