I'm, listening to the BBC news... they are deep in reporting the upcoming vote on British Education reform. It strikes me as interesting that Blair is having the same diffiulty of controlling schools as well. Sometimes it occurs to me that 'politics as usual' is worldwide. Schools and education are foremost in everyone's mind, but how to improve the schools and how to pay for that school improvement is difficult to legislate... in any country. The more the economic world shrinks, the more the problems become universal as well.
I find it interesting that students needing special help come into my office and say "Drive time? What's that? And where is the M4 or the A332?" I'm listening to a classical music station out of London... I like their selection better than our local station - and I don't get FM in the library anyway. Fun that they actually listen to the music that I'm listening to, isn;'t it?
