I bought the lumber for two raised garden beds about a week ago. First thing, though, was to remove the turf from the garden spot. The existing "lawn" - the loose rock'n' roll translation for "weedy material that I mow in the back yard" is mostly hardy Brome and long Fescue - both very good forage, but awful to try to remove. Seeds and stolons have to go... or "they'll be back, Baby"!
Got the turf out, the bed area reasonably level, and then found I couldn't move the long boards by myself... much less put the pieces together! HENRY!!! Help, please.
After Henry put the pieces together (I helped), and I put the gopher wire in the bottom, he brought the good soil and compost over with the tractor and filled the brand new bed. YYYYAAAY! It's GARDEN TIME!
