Back Online, Maybe...

This is one of the things that has been going on since I posted last. I finished the Master Gardner's Certification ... a bit surprised that I could do it, but I'm now an "Apprentice". Next year, after I finish my Apprentice volunteer hours, I will be an OSU Extension Master Gardner. My first post-retirement volunteer commitment.

I went to Palm Desert at the end of March to visit my Dad and Larry... hoping to convince Dad to move up here to Roseburg. I found a really nice facility across from Stewart Park right on the river, and they do have room for Dad in the "Personal Care" section - where there are aides and nurses available 24/7, but the residents have their own apartments and their independence. It is a step up in assistance from completely independent living, but definitely NOT a "nursing home". I think he'd be happier up here, closer to both families, and I like the facility and the staff. We shall see what he thinks.

Alex's quilt is coming along well, it should be completed by her graduation! Lots of color... all "spray batik" as she loves tie-dye. I will be sending it to Kerstin at the end of the month for quilting, then back to me for binding and gift-wrapping.

  1. Congratulations on the Master Gardener Apprenticeship! Hope your father will decide to make the move closer to your home.
