Contractor Jim and Kyle arrived at 7:30 this morning to start framing the new shop. The first unit of lumber and some "special sticks" were delivered yesterday. Since Jim's crew had to stop and build the firehouse, and then the concrete inside the foundation blocks had to cure, then the poured floor slab had to cure... our new shop seemed to be going up very slowly. Actually, the guys have only been working on the building a total of about six days.Jim and Kyle got the vertical sticks almost all up today. The majority of the front side is garage doors, so they've just got part of the side wall and the short wall between the doors left to put up. Since the inside of the shop will be 10', there will be lots of fireblocks to put in (code requires them in anything over 8'), so they aren't finished withe the framing yet. But those two guys are fast!
