SNOW Day!!!

Jim emailed yesterday from Oregon, and our first thought was that the house had blown up, or the Walnut tree had fallen on it, or another disaster had occured. Not so; he wanted us to know all was well at the farm, but that there had been 18inches of show from the last storm!

I do wish I'd been there, it must have been beautiful. I'd love to have seen 'the cove' full of snow, and the 10 acre field covered in white! Perhaps then I'd have been able to see the Elks' tracks as well... I know the Elk are out there, but I have missed seeing them the last few times I've been up. It was wonderful when we had 6 inches of snow for our "White Christmas", even though it made getting back to California difficult. If we had been at the farm this time, though, we'd not have been able to get out... well, maybe the plow on the Ditch Witch would have been able to clear the road, but maybe not. Jim's big 4WD truck apparently made it up to his barn to feed, or maybe he went up there on a horse, because he said our barn lights were still on and the water pump was still working. The animals are all OK, then.
