Last night just about sunset, while I was driving West on Hwy 116, I saw a HUGE flock of White Penguins! I had never even seen one, just "the usual" California Brown Pelicans coasting along the breaker line at Bodega. They were flying in an elongated "V" like a very long necklace of Canada Geese... I was watching the group floating behind the leader when I noticed the birds were the wrong color, white instead of the black-necked buff color I expected. Then I checked the black wing-tips, and the goldy-yellow beaks... THOSE aren't geese!

A good end to the day.
